John is an attorney with the National Consumer Law Center and focuses on consumer credit, mortgage servicing and bankruptcy issues. He has served as a panelist and instructor at numerous trainings and legal education seminars on consumer credit, mortgage lending and servicing, and bankruptcy topics. John has served as an expert witness in court cases and has testified in Congress on consumer matters. He has participated in the Center's litigation efforts, which have included serving as co-counsel in class action cases involving bankruptcy reaffirmation abuse and mortgage servicing. As a member of the federal Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules from 2006-2012, John provided a leadership role in the development of bankruptcy rules dealing with the treatment of mortgage claims in chapter 13 cases. He was an adjunct faculty member at Boston College School of Law from 2008 to 2011.
