Bio

Theodore O. Bartholow, III (“Thad”) is a member of Kellett & Bartholow PLLC in Dallas, Texas. Thad's law practice is focused on consumer bankruptcy, with a concentration on consumer litigation in bankruptcy, including especially individual and class cases against creditors, debt collectors, and mortgage servicers. Thad is a frequent speaker and author regarding consumer litigation and consumer bankruptcy: he regularly co-teaches Max Gardner's Bankruptcy Boot Camps and Advanced Consumer Litigation Seminars, and he regularly speaks at local, regional and national conferences and workshops, including recently arguing in favor of the applicability of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in Bankruptcy at the “Great Debates” program at the American Bankruptcy Institute's Winter Leadership Conference in December 2015. Thad has also been honored to represent consumer debtors’ interests on behalf of NACBA at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ Rules Committee’s “Mortgage Mini-Conference” in 2012 regarding Bankruptcy Rule 3002.1. He currently serves as a State Chair of Texas for NACBA and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (whose work has been published in the ABI Journal), and he is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Attorneys. Thad received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1998 and his J.D. in 2002 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York; he is licensed to practice in the state courts of Texas and New York, and in the Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas.
